The year 2030 in the Yampa Valley will look much different than it does today and not just because of advances in technology. Routt County’s population is projected to grow 71% over the next 20 years to almost 40,000 residents (source: Colorado Department of Local Affairs).
How do we nourish our sense of community amidst change? How do we ensure those things we treasure are part of this future? Vision 2030 intends to discover and describe the core values that define our region’s “heart and soul” attributes–those unique features, resources, special places, and characteristics that, if lost, would fundamentally diminish the quality of community and sense of well-being that brought citizens here in the first place.
