Project Timeline
Vision 2030 is a collaborative citizen’s effort to define the future of the Yampa River Valley, gathering the wisdom of valley residents, updating the 1994 Vision 2020 Report, and creating collective stewardship of a community vision that retains and sustains our “heart and soul” assets for generations to come.
2008 Vision 2030 Timeline ‘What’s Next?’
January to March 2008
- Continue to gather surveys and information from community, seeking diverse perspectives and input with as wide a reach as possible.
- Draft outline for Consolidated Data.
- The Vision 2020 Review Committee will also be reviewing past recommendations with specific interest groups.
March-April 2008
- Compile, Consolidate and Summarize information/findings for presentation.
- Combine findings of Vision 2020 Review with findings from Vision 2030 Gatherings and Surveys
May 2008
- Graphic chart for each focus area (Economy; Transportation; Planning; etc.) that outlines recommendations to continue to pursue from Vision 2020 along with new Vision 2030 recommendations
- Presentations back to the communities on ‘this is what we heard’, utilizing website, meetings and outreach from many levels and methods.
- Obtain feedback and understanding about what was missed and if we heard it correctly.
June-October 2008
- Incorporate additional information and feedback from May outreach.
- Develop education and outreach approach for solutions presented/compiled by working with groups and organizations connected to these and begin to develop initial recommendations including ‘desired future’ scenarios.
- Focus/affinity circles refine findings to develop draft recommendations
- Consider World Café for education aspects around recommendations.
November 2008
- Vision 2030 Community Gatherings ‘Part II’ for reviewing compiled information, and presentation of draft recommendations.
- ‘Desired Future’ scenario planning and recommendations prioritization through keypad polling.
March 2009
- Presentation of Final Recommendations
Responsibilities of the Vision 2030 Citizens Committee are:
- With the assistance of a project manager, design and implement the process and timeline to update the Vision 2020 First Report of Recommendations.
- With the assistance of a project manager, develop the information to be presented at the community meetings.
- Participate in the presentation of information at the community meetings and facilitate the discussions at the community meetings.
- With the assistance of the project manager and a professional writer/editor, if necessary, create a Vision 2030 Report of Recommendations based on community input received throughout the process.
- Present the Report of Recommendations to the local governing bodies in the County and other pertinent entities and organizations for acceptance, ratification or adoption.
- Facilitate and monitor the implementation of the recommendations included in the Vision 2030 report.
- Provide annual reports to the community outlining the progress made regarding the recommendations included in the Vision 2030 report.
